"Easter Offerings"

Once again it is the time of year to support the work of the World Mission Fund of the Methodist Church.

The fund supports the work of the Methodist Church in Britain's 107 partner churches around the world, and their work is only made possible by kind donations from church members. Donation envelopes will be available in church over the next few weeks and can be returned via the collection plate. Thank you in anticipation of your generous giving and continuing prayerful support.  Margaret H.

Used Postage Stamps

Thank you so much to everyone who has been saving the stamps in aid of the East Lancs hospice.  We are still collecting them, so thanks again in anticipation, but please remember to leave a frame of at least two centimetres from the envelope.  The collection box is still to be found on the foyer table. Madeleine

 Men’s Fellowship

The next meeting of the Men’s Fellowship will be held on Thursday 10th April at 7:30 when the speaker will be Stephen Colling.

Good Friday Service at Rishton Methodist Church

A joint Churches Together in Rishton service is planned for Good Friday, April 18th with our friends from St Peter and St Paul.  This will commence at 10:00 followed by a procession with the cross to the Esplanade.

School Collective Worship in Church

There will be no collective worship in church on 8th, 15th and 22nd April.  The next service in church will be on Tuesday 29th April led by Steve. We also would like to thank the school for their lovely Easter work which is on display in our foyer.

Mid-week Lenten service at Rishton

The second of our Lenten services will take place in the church meeting room on Wednesday 9th April.  The service will include a study of a bible passage: Revelation 5. It will be helpful if you could read this passage in advance. The Maundy Thursday Holy Communion service is on Thursday, 17th April at 7.30pm.  These are all circuit services and all are welcome. Rev. Mark.

AND FINALLY  !.. ( from ' Yorkshire  Police Gazette ')

On Crimewatch the other night it was reported that Police investigating a bank robbery in Doncaster are still looking for leads.  They were not too pleased when a man phoned in to inform them that it was approximately 8.31 miles from Bradford.

An alternative presentation of the hymn “Jesus Loves Me” discovered by Rebecca

Jesus loves me this I know,

Though my hair is white as snow

Though my sight is growing dim,

Still He bids me Trust in Him.

Though my steps are oh so slow,

With my hand in His I’ll go

On through life, let come what may.

He’ll be there to lead the way

When the nights are dark and long,

In my heart He puts a song

Telling me in words so clear,

Have no fear, for I am near

When my life on earth is done,

And life’s victories have been won

He will take me home above,

Then I’ll understand His love

I love Jesus, Does He know?

Have I ever told Him so?

Jesus loves to hear me say,

That I love Him every day.

Chorus

Yes, Jesus loves me

Yes, Jesus loves me

Yes, Jesus loves me

The Bible tells me so.
