"Easter Offerings"

Once again it is the time of year to support the work of the World Mission Fund of the Methodist Church.

The fund supports the work of the Methodist Church in Britain's 107 partner churches around the world, and their work is only made possible by kind donations from church members. Donation envelopes will be available in church over the next few weeks and can be returned via the collection plate. Thank you in anticipation of your generous giving and continuing prayerful support.  Margaret H.

 Used Postage Stamps

Thank you so much to everyone who has been saving the stamps in aid of the East Lancs hospice.  We are still collecting them, so thanks again in anticipation, but please remember to leave a frame of at least two centimetres from the envelope.  The collection box is still to be found on the foyer table. Madeleine

Prayer from the United Reformed Church Lenten resources.  Fourth Sunday in Lent

Gracious God, in striving for comfort and ease,

in the seeking of advantage over neighbour,

in participating even distantly in the violence of the world, or in shielding ourselves in ignorance

so that we might avoid the hurt that comes

with loving the world as You love it,

we confess we have sinned,

in thought, word, and deed.

We have not loved our neighbour as ourselves.

We seek your mercy and forgiveness,

that we may turn again to You,

and recover our true identity,

shaped in Your image,

filled with Your grace and truth.

God is always making all things new! We are a new creation in Christ Jesus!

The Lord says: If you want to become my followers, deny yourself,

take up your cross, and follow me.

Give us the courage to live as Your new creation,

forgiven, loved, and whole. Amen.
