"Easter Offerings"
Once again it is the time of year to support the work of the World Mission Fund of the Methodist Church.
The fund supports the work of the Methodist Church in Britain's 107 partner churches around the world, and their work is only made possible by kind donations from church members. Donation envelopes will be available in church over the next few weeks and can be returned via the collection plate. Thank you in anticipation of your generous giving and continuing prayerful support. Margaret H.
Used Postage Stamps.
Thank you so much to everyone who has been saving the stamps in aid of the East Lancs hospice. We are still collecting them, so thanks again in anticipation, but please remember to leave a frame of at least two centimetres from the envelope. The collection box is still to be found on the foyer table. Madeleine

AND FINALLY. . ( From " Gardening Monthly ")
Last week my friend's wife told him that she was leaving because of his obsession with flower puns! It didn't help one bit when he replied..
“For goodness sake petal, where has all this stemmed from?”
Going up to Jerusalem
Loving God, at this time,
we remember that going up to Jerusalem
cost Jesus his very life.
So we come before you,
conscious of the way religious words
and holy phrases
can slip so easily from our lazy lips
and our hardened hearts.
What do we really know
of your mountainous truth,
your rock-hard integrity,
the depth of your suffering
for love of us all?
Forgive us for the shallowness
of our faith,
and the timidity of our following:
forgive us for the ready excuses
we make for going our own way
and claiming it as yours.
Turn us round again, we pray,
by your Holy Spirit,
active within us and among us.
Show us how to be open again
to your faithfulness
and to your freedom,
that we may live
new lives
and be again bearers
of the seeds of the Kingdom
of Jesus.
