"Easter Offerings"

Once again it is the time of year to support the work of the World Mission Fund of the Methodist Church.

The fund supports the work of the Methodist Church in Britain's 107 partner churches around the world, and their work is only made possible by kind donations from church members. Donation envelopes will be available in church over the next few weeks and can be returned via the collection plate. Thank you in anticipation of your generous giving and continuing prayerful support.  Margaret H.

 Used Postage Stamps

Thank you so much to everyone who has been saving the stamps in aid of the East Lancs hospice.  We are still collecting them, so thanks again in anticipation, but please remember to leave a frame of at least two centimetres from the envelope.  The collection box is still to be found on the foyer table.

Madeleine

Plan dates

The preacher at 10:30 on Sunday 27th April will be: Barbara Taylor

School Collective Worship in Church

There will be no collective worship in church on 22nd April.  The next service in church will be on Tuesday 29th April led by Steve. We also would like to thank the school for their lovely Easter work which is on display in our foyer.

Thursday Ladies

We will be meeting on Thursday 24th April, at 2.00pm in the small meeting room, when our speaker will be Ian Kitchin. If there are any ladies who still have collection boxes to hand in, would you please bring them to the meeting. I look forward to seeing you all.
Madeleine

AND FINALLY ..(from " My Inbox "..)

Received some disturbing news from a friend of mine. He and his wife are currently on honeymoon in Croatia.  It saddened me to read In his letter that tomorrow they're going to Split !

 God has made laughter for us!

Christ is risen; He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

Risen in quiet and mysterious darkness

before the chorus of the dawn.

Alleluia, Christ is risen;

HE IS RISEN INDEED.

Risen with glory and grace in reserve,

and authority beyond measure.

Alleluia, Christ is risen;

HE IS RISEN INDEED.

Risen to prove that violence is no solution;

to offer us peace and life in all its fullness.

Alleluia, Christ is risen;

HE IS RISEN INDEED.

For God has taken into his own flesh

the sin of the world.

The last laugh is God’s laugh;

God has the last laugh:

For freedom comes beyond the cross,

for peace comes beyond the violence,

for friendship comes beyond the betrayal.

For life comes beyond the crushing of life.

The first laugh and the last laugh are God’s.

And God has made laughter for us.

Alleluia, Christ is risen;

HE IS RISEN INDEED.
