THE THURSDAY LADIES

We will meet on Thursday 31st October at 2.00pm in the small meeting room, when Sharon will demonstrate and assist us each to create a Christmas decorative display for our own homes.  Although most of the outlay for materials has already been covered, it would be much appreciated if each member could donate a further £2.00 on the day towards the costs. Thank you very much and I hope to see you there.    Madeleine

Closing date for notices

It would be helpful if all notices for Sunday 3rd November could be in by the evening of Wednesday 30th October. Please send them to: steveruth.colling@gmail.com 07958 036736 or tunstallsharon2@gmail.com mobile 07930930514.

CHRISTMAS FAIR 2ND NOVEMBER –

 11.00AM TO 2.00PM

The stalls will include Cafe, Cakes, Crafts, Jewellery, Christmas Decorations, Chocolate tombola, Mystery bags, Books, toys & games, and of course the Raffle.

If you are able to contribute anything towards the above, it can be placed in the box in the foyer on Sundays, and your generosity will be much appreciated.  Please keep this date in your diary - it is very close now - and help us to make it a very enjoyable day. Although the Fair is organised by the Thursday Ladies, nearly all of the profits are given to the church, which benefits us all.

Anyone available to help to set out the tables please meet at church at 13:30 on Friday 1st November.  Stallholders can set up from 14:00

And Finally (From ' RETRO MUSIC MONTHLY ' ).

At a recent. ' Memories of Oscar Straus ' concert, the celebrated Welsh tenor Tudor Butty captivated the audience with a few Bars of Straus's celebrated waltz song... ' My Aero ' from ' The Chocolate Soldier '.

After which, as an encore, he delighted the children in the audience with his prestidigitatory skills as he appeared to produce a Mars Bar out of thin air. This move, unfortunately, lost much of its intended wonderment as due to a tear in his jacket it was obvious to all that he had more Twix up his sleeve!

However, his last song ' Kitten on the Keys ' by Depussy  saved the day.  (From your correspondent.).

A prayer from Sheryl Anderson, former District Chair, former Liverpool District

God of all, we praise you for the life that you give us,
even when we cling to it by no more than our fingertips and, in Jesus’ name, we protest the inequality created by human greed. Amen.
